On Sunday, the Bolesławiec volleyball players, competing in the Lower Silesian fourth division, recorded another victory. This time, TOP defeated the team from KKS REN-BUT Złotoryja 3:0 in sets (25:17, 25:19, 25:18). The team coached by Bogusław Mienculewicz had the technical and physical advantage. The Bolesławiec players served effectively. Świerzewski and Kozłowski delivered a good reception and solid attacks through the middle.
Bolesławiec won the first set easily, giving the opponents no chance to find their rhythm. In the second set, the visitors put up a fight, and the match remained point for point until the score reached 18:18. The turning point came after Świerzewski “woke up”; he played effectively at the net and in attack. From the beginning, the third set was controlled by TOP. Kozłowski, Pierzchalski, Marcinkiewicz, Kolator and Chmielowski scored points effectively, while libero Potocki was flawless in the backcourt. TOP held the advantage and confidently won the final set, taking the entire match 3:0. The Supporters’ Club was present at the match, encouraging our team. The referee also drew attention to the strength of the Supporters’ Club’s cheering, several times indicating that he could not hear his fellow referee’s whistle.
Our volleyball players currently occupy fifth place in the Lower Silesian volleyball league table. Important matches in Bogatynia, Oława and Kowary still lie ahead. If the Bolesławiec players win these matches, teams competing in the qualifying tournament for promotion to the third volleyball league will come to Bolesławiec as early as May.
