Both teams aspire to play in the second division, so the clash promises to be very exciting. The team from Bierutów is a new entity, but in name only. It is essentially Siatkarz Oleśnica. In the summer of this year, after being relegated from the second division, the club’s president was unable to reach an agreement with the authorities of Oleśnica, so he moved the club to Bierutów.

The team’s leader is Paweł Siezieniewski, a graduate of AZS Olsztyn. He also began his senior career at this club in the 2000/2001 season. Before the start of the 2003/2004 season, he moved to Mostostal Azoty Kędzierzyn-Koźle, the reigning Polish champions at the time. From the 2005/2006 season, he was supposed to represent Jastrzębski Węgiel, but at the very beginning of that season he was loaned to Energia Sosnowiec. After returning from the loan, he won the Polish vice-championship with Jastrzębski Węgiel in 2007. In the middle of the 2007/2008 season, he returned to his parent club, AZS Olsztyn. Most recently, he played for Cuprum Lubin.

He made his debut for the Poland national team on May 29, 2002, in a World League match against Italy. Dangerous injuries, which he struggled with for several consecutive years, complicated the development of both his club and international career.
