A ceremony summarising the celebrations of the 95th anniversary of the Society of Friends of Children in Poland and the 70th anniversary of TPD in Legnica and Lower Silesia was held on Monday at the Parnasik restaurant.
During the event, people and institutions that had distinguished themselves through activities for children were honoured with decorations, statuettes and medals. Silver Distinguished TPD Activist badges were awarded to: Agnieszka Szuba, former chairwoman of the TPD branch at Primary School No. 19 in Legnica, and Violetta Urban, chairwoman of the TPD branch at Primary School No. 19 in Niedźwiedzice.
The Friend of the Child badges were awarded for many years of voluntary work to: Katarzyna Napora, a former TPD employee in Legnica, Katarzyna Prędota, chairwoman of the TPD branch at Primary School No. 19, and Agata Tokarz-Puzio from the Municipal Office. TPD 70th-anniversary statuettes were also presented.
Kazimierz Pleśniak, president of the Legnica branch of TPD, was honoured with the Honorary Badge for Merits in Protecting Children's Rights.
