Recital Edyta Geppert with the participation of Piotr Matuszczyk (piano) and Jerzy Szarecki (trumpet) will be a wonderful treat for music lovers. The script for the performance was written and directed by Piotr Loretz.
Edyta Geppert is known for building her repertoire with great care. Her precisely directed recitals are a rare opportunity to hear true gems of Polish literary song.
Among the lyricists are Magda Czapińska, Agnieszka Osiecka, Jacek Cygan, Marek Dagnan, Jerzy Ficowski, Jonasz Kofta, Wojciech Młynarski, Andrzej Poniedzielski and Jan Kazimierz Siwek, while the composers include Henryk Alber, Włodzimierz Korcz, Seweryn Krajewski and Andrzej Rybiński.
Many songs from Edyta Geppert’s repertoire have stood the test of time and become evergreen classics. From these simple, melodic little word-and-music forms, the artist draws out powerful emotions that spread to the audience. Edyta Geppert’s recital is an excellent opportunity to experience her extraordinary interpretive artistry and her now-rare ability to create sharply contrasting moods: lyrical songs set against dramatic ones, and dramatic songs against humorous, so-called cabaret songs, represented by the texts of the genre’s classic, Marian Hemar. It is a unique opportunity to experience emotions that only a few artists endowed with true charisma can offer an audience.
