Police officers from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained, immediately after the incident, a 20-year-old resident of Tychy suspected of attempting to commit a robbery. The man has already been remanded in custody for two months.

The crime occurred on 15 January this year, a few minutes before midnight. While patrolling the area around Jana Pawła II Street in Jelenia Góra, police officers noticed a man running with visible injuries to his face. The officers drove over to him and took him into the patrol car to establish what had happened. According to the Jelenia Góra resident, he had fallen victim to a crime. While he was returning home, a young man attacked and beat him, then attempted to rob him. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape.

Together with the victim, police officers began searching for the person suspected of committing the crime. Several streets from the scene, they noticed a man whom the Jelenia Góra resident identified as the attacker.

The 20-year-old from Tychy has already been remanded in custody for two months. He could face up to 12 years in prison.
