Winter has arrived, with temperatures falling below zero. This is not an easy time for homeless people. It is all the more heartening that for many years, young people from the Volunteer School Club at Secondary School Complex No. 1 in Lubin, together with community police officers, have not forgotten those who need our help most during this period. The students and their supervisors collect food products and other items that may be useful to people in need at this time of year. They then set out together with the community police officers. By giving up their free time, the young people and police officers reach homeless people with packages.
This year, they visited several places where people in need stay. The largest amount of food reached the residents of the homeless shelter run by the Saint Brother Albert Aid Society.
Every year, the joint initiative of the young people and community police officers is met with the gratitude of those receiving the packages, which further motivates the young people and their supervisors to undertake more volunteer activities for people in need.
