- “The Eccentrics, or On the Sunny Side of the Street”, is the extraordinary story of a jazz musician (Maciej Stuhr) who returns from England to Poland in the late 1950s. Together with a group of eccentric musicians, he forms a swing big band. Modesta (Natalia Rybicka) becomes the band’s star, and together they achieve great success. The musician quickly loses his head over the seductive 2028and mysterious femme fatale. Soon, a passionate romance develops between them. As the “King and Queen 2028of Swing”, they set off on a concert tour of Poland, and their lives begin to resemble a Hollywood film. Will their feelings prove genuine?
- “The Hateful Eight” takes place several years after the Civil War, as bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russel), known as “The Hangman”, and fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) travel across the windswept wilderness of Wyoming. During a snowstorm, they take shelter at an inn, where they meet mysterious strangers. When a fierce blizzard hits the mountain outpost, the travelers begin to realize that their chances of reaching the town are slim, and that their greatest concern may not be the ruthless weather, but rather their fellow travelers, who have dishonorable intentions.
- In its second week on our screen: Kinga Dębska’s film, winner of the Journalists’ Award, the Network of Study and Local Cinemas Award, and the Audience Award at the 40th Gdynia Film Festival, “My Daughters’ Cows”, as well as the sports drama “Creed”, in which Sylvester Stallone returns to the screen as Rocky Balboa, while Michael B. Jordan joins him in this contemporary installment of the series.
