Jolanta Koźmin:

My painting career began two years ago, when in October 2013 I enrolled at UTW in Bolesławiec and began attending painting classes taught by Katarzyna Sas, who taught me a great deal and often says that I “have 216 ideas for one subject.” I also gained a lot of valuable experience from my friends in the group. I have already painted around 200 works on various subjects.

So far, I have taken part in three group exhibitions. In 2015, I held around 20 solo exhibitions in my “Fence Gallery,” and since October, in the “Staircase Gallery.” Since November, I have been organizing Literary and Painting Meetings in my studio. They are guided by the motto “Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is speaking painting.”

And she adds:

Painting is my great passion. Thanks to it, I discover the world anew every day—its beauty and uniqueness contained in stones, wood, a drop of water, nature and people. I am interested in a variety of subjects and use different techniques and surfaces. I am constantly searching and experimenting, and I am not consistent in my ... “painting feelings.” At present, I have been captivated by—and apparently they feel the same way about me... watercolors.

The hours I spend painting are the most beautiful moments, magical moments when, under the influence of a brush or pencil, an ordinary sheet of paper begins a new life. These works express my emotions; I could tell the story of how each one came into being, each has a title, and each has also been painted in my heart, which is why it is so difficult for me to part with them. I love this unending “dance with colors,” which gives me the feeling of being a happy and fulfilled woman.
