A group of diplomats from Belarus was in Bolesławiec. The Belarusians met with the authorities of Powiat Bolesławiecki and representatives of the cultural community. Among the guests from Belarus was Aleksander Awerjanow, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Belarus in Poland. The visit by the Belarusians was intended to initiate cultural contacts between the countries, followed by economic contacts.
Aleksander Awerjanow said, among other things, that Belarus and Poland had never waged wars against each other, which supports establishing economic contacts. Information about opportunities for economic cooperation with Belarus will be passed on to entrepreneurs from the Bolesławiec county area.
The visit by the Belarusians to Bolesławiec was initiated by the Poland-East Cooperation Association. The Association focuses on establishing contacts with the East, regardless of the prevailing political climate. An example of cooperation in the field of culture is an exhibition of works by Belarusian artist Victor Alshevsky, prepared by the Museum of Ceramics.
