We remind you that free legal aid will be provided to eligible natural persons, whose group is specified in detail in the adopted regulation. The following people will be able to use it:

  1. young people up to 26 years of age
  2. people holding a valid Large Family Card
  3. seniors over 65
  4. natural persons who, during the year preceding the application, were granted a social assistance benefit under the Social Assistance Act
  5. combatants
  6. veterans
  7. people at risk from or affected by a natural disaster, natural catastrophe or technical failure.

Free legal aid will include:

  1. informing the eligible person about the applicable legal status, their rights or their obligations, or
  2. indicating to the eligible person how to resolve their legal problem, or
  3. assistance in preparing a draft letter in matters referred to in points 1 and 2, excluding procedural documents in pending preparatory or court proceedings and documents in pending administrative court proceedings, or
  4. preparing a draft application for exemption from court costs or appointment of a court-appointed representative in court proceedings, or appointing an advocate, legal adviser, tax adviser or patent attorney in administrative court proceedings.

Under the Act, free legal aid does not cover matters:

  1. related to taxes and the conduct of business activity
  2. concerning customs, foreign exchange and commercial law
  3. related to conducting business activity, except for preparations to start such activity.
