On 22 December 2015, in Lubin, an unknown perpetrator stole a York dog. As police officers established, its owner had left the dog outside a shop for a few minutes (he did not want to enter the store with it). When he came out, the animal was gone.

The case was investigated by officers from the Criminal and Investigative Department. The police used surveillance footage, which recorded the theft and the perpetrator’s appearance. In cooperation with officers from Polkowice, they established the suspect’s identity.

When the 27-year-old resident of Lubin learned that he was wanted, he decided to return the dog. He brought it to the Lubin police station.

The York returned home on Christmas Eve. The 27-year-old faces up to five years in prison.
