The holidays are getting closer... and the shopping frenzy is in full swing. This is particularly evident in the growing number of people visiting supermarkets. Six days before Christmas Eve, we took photos around the largest shops in Bolesławiec. On Saturday afternoon, the car parks were full. It is frightening to think what will happen just before the holidays.
Haste, nerves, traffic jams, collisions, chips, dents and scratched paint on cars, queues in shops and food supplies at home—certainly much larger than would be needed for two holiday days. In most cases, we simply like to go on such shopping sprees, and a significant change in our behaviour is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
According to the Wirtualna Polska: this year, Christmas spending will average PLN 820. Although half of Poles admit that they spend too much on organising the holidays, few people want to change this. Some of the planned expenditure will go towards presents. This year, two-thirds of Poles expect to receive a gift under the Christmas tree. Its average value is PLN 170.
