On Saturday, the TOP Ekoceramika Bolesławiec team played the first match of the second round of the second-division table tennis league. Our team’s opponents were AZS Zielona Góra. It was a match between the second- and fifth-placed teams in the league. In the first round, the match between these teams had been a very close contest and ended with a somewhat fortunate 7–3 victory for the Bolesławiec team.

The return fixture began very well for TOP. Łukasz Jaźwiec defeated Przemysław Iwuc, in four sets, while at the second table Robert Girulski, also in four sets, beat Grzegorz Kozioł. Our players won the next two singles matches comfortably: Tomasz Fortunko defeated Paweł Sroczyński 3–0, and Jarosław Girulski beat Grzegorz Jackowski. After four singles matches, Bolesławiec led 4–0, and the doubles pairs took to the tables.

The doubles matches were very close and played at a high level, but once again the hosts came through, winning both encounters. The following matches were merely a formality, as after the doubles TOP already led 6–0 and were certain to win. The Bolesławiec players nevertheless showed determination and did not let up until the end. The match ended in a sensational 10–0 victory for TOP Ekoceramika Bolesławiec. As a result, TOP strengthened its position as the runner-up in the second-division table tennis league. In their next home match in Bolesławiec, TOP will face STS Bartoszów.
