On Friday, Andrzej Łoś, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, visited Bolesławiec. The marshal took part in two meetings. Both were held at the District Office. First, the marshal met with the local government authorities of our city, district and nearby municipalities. He spoke with commune heads, the mayor, the city president and the district governor about the condition of roads in the district and ways of obtaining money for new roads and repairs to existing ones.

Andrzej Łoś was also interested in the socio-economic situation in individual municipalities. He asked about the size of the budget per resident and the unemployment rate. He also spoke about the development opportunities of Bolesławiec District.

According to the marshal, the city and district have significant economic potential, which, combined with the effective use of European funds, must lead to economic development and, consequently, an improvement in residents’ quality of life.

After meeting with the local government authorities, Andrzej Łoś took part in an open meeting with residents of the city and district. The marshal spoke about regional development, focusing on the development opportunities of Bolesławiec District.

He stressed that local governments at all levels should jointly develop major economic projects and jointly apply for funding. According to Andrzej Łoś, only this way of working is a recipe for success.

Later in the meeting, the marshal answered questions from Bolesławiec residents. The questions covered a very broad range of topics: from guarantees of an even distribution of funds between Wrocław and the rest of Lower Silesia, through the possibility of financial support from the Marshal’s Office for equipping the library in Bolesławiec, to the quality of cooperation between the marshal and the voivode.

Andrzej Łoś repeatedly said that, contrary to concerns, the city of Wrocław would not absorb all the funds allocated for economic development. As examples of municipalities and districts that were record-breakers in obtaining funding, the marshal pointed to Krośnice (near Milicz) and Kłodzko District. The marshal confirmed that co-financing for the library was possible and expressed hope that cooperation between him and the voivode would serve as an example of good cooperation.

Part of the meeting was devoted to tourism and the Via Sudetica group. Andrzej Łoś expressed the view that only cooperation at the district and voivodeship levels could produce results in promoting the region.
