Lucjan Rewers was born on 1 December 1931 in Beaugency, France. After completing primary school there, he learned the craft of photography. At one of the photography studios, he acquired the skills and knowledge needed to take photographs, including color photographs, and learned how to process them.

He came to Bolesławiec in 1948. He attended evening high school, where he passed his secondary-school final examinations. Initially, he worked for photographer Rudolf Skorupa. Soon afterward, he opened his own studio in the Market Square. For a long time, he was the only person in the area to take color photographs and make reproductions (photographs made from photographs).

He photographed not only the residents of Bolesławiec but also the town itself, documenting its history. He also taught photography classes for amateurs in a club established by employees of the Hospital for the Nervously and Mentally Ill. He was deeply devoted to his work, conscientious, meticulous and always cheerful.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased.
