The hosts of this year’s “Safer Together” Police Knowledge Competition final were the Voluntary Labour Corps and the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters. The honorary patronage of the event was assumed by the head of Bolesławiec Municipality Andrzej Dutkowski, who, among other things, funded a prize for the best participant.

The aim of the competition is to familiarise participants with the specifics of police service. Young people learn how to act in situations when they become victims or witnesses of crime. Tournament participants are made aware of the dangers they may encounter in everyday life.

The competition consisted of two parts: a written part (a knowledge test) and an oral part, held in groups. Among other things, the young participants had to demonstrate general knowledge of police work, road safety and addiction prevention.

Teams from Kamienna Góra, Mysłakowice, Jelenia Góra and Bolesławiec took part in the final. After two stages of competition, the panel (comprising Superintendent Anna Nęcka and Staff Sergeant Beata Borowicz from the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, and Senior Aspirant Paweł Klimek, deputy head of the Prevention Division of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters) selected the winning teams:

  1. The first team from OHP Mysłakowice
  2. The first team from OHP Bolesławiec
  3. The second team from OHP Bolesławiec.

The competition’s best participant was also recognised: Mateusz Kukieła from OHP in Mysłakowice.
