As part of the free events, there will be a St. Nicholas concert, Christmas art workshops, a meeting with Santa Claus and an exhibition of Nativity scenes. In addition, attractive screenings will be shown for young audiences at Kino Forum. We invite you!
St. Nicholas Concert
On Friday, 4 December at 5:00 p.m., the Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre will host a St. Nicholas Concert performed by participants in BOK-MCC workshops. The following performers from the vocal workshop led by Barbara Lendzian will appear: Marysia Stanisławska, Roksana Wojtasińska, Natalia Jędrak, Konrad Andruchów and Emilia Bołbot, as well as Wiktoria Busz, Zuzanna Dzięgiel, Kamil Gałka, Oliwia Jakubowska, Amelia Kowalczyk, Natalia Kowalczyk, Karolina Michalczuk, Kornelia Molak, Piotr Różnicki, Dominika Stecka, Agata Szewczyk, Katarzyna Rewińska, Paulina Zarazińska and Maria Wójtowicz from the children’s group “Błękitne Nutki” at Agata Pińczuk–Burdzy’s Song Studio. The vocalists will present a varied repertoire prepared under the guidance of their instructors. Admission to the concert is free.
Art workshops “In the Glow of Christmas”
On Saturday, 5 December at 11:00 a.m., BOK-MCC will hold a two-hour, free art workshop for children and young people aged 7 to 18. Participants will make decorative gel candles and centrepieces. Places are limited! Registration is available at the Tourist and Cultural Information Point, Pl. Piłsudskiego 1c, tel. 75 645 32 90, e-mail: pitik@bok.boleslawiec.pl
Under the guidance of experienced BOK-MCC instructors, participants will make gel candles according to their own designs, using traditional decorations and motifs associated with Christmas, as well as centrepieces for the candles and lanterns they make. The finished works will become an unusual decoration for the Christmas table.
Participants are asked to bring conifer branches, pine cones, pieces of tree bark (for the centrepieces) and jars (of any capacity, shape and size).
Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden Hand Out Gifts
On Sunday, 6 December, Santa Claus will be waiting to meet children in the BOK-MCC foyer from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity for parents who want to make their child happy with a gift presented by Santa himself. The Snow Maiden will help him.
Christmas Exhibition of Nativity Scenes
From Monday, 7 December, Nativity scenes submitted to the third edition of the Nativity Scene Competition will be displayed in the foyer of Kino Forum. We are accepting entries made using any technique, individually or in groups, at BOK-MCC until 30 November. The competition is held under the patronage of the Mayor of Bolesławiec.
Prizes and distinctions in the competition will be awarded by a committee appointed by the Organiser. In addition, voting will take place on the Facebook profile of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre, https://www.facebook.com/bokmcc, where you can vote by “liking” the work you like best (votes cast by 11 December will count). The competition results will be announced during Bolesławiec’s Star of Kindness on 17 December in the Market Square.
St. Nicholas Day at Kino Forum
From 4 to 7 December, Kino Forum will show the latest Disney/Pixar animated film “The Good Dinosaur” especially for our youngest viewers, as well as advance screenings of the adventure film “Belle and Sebastian 2”.
Disney/Pixar’s animated film “The Good Dinosaur” asks: what if the asteroid that changed the course of life on Earth had never hit our planet and huge dinosaurs still walked the Earth today? “Belle and Sebastian 2” is a sequel to the film adaptation of the bestselling novel for young people, which was warmly received throughout Europe. The story of the extraordinary friendship between a boy and a dog enters a new stage, full of exciting adventures and moving discoveries. We invite both individuals and organised groups to the screenings. Details and reservations: www.kino.boleslawiec.pl
The events held under the title “Around the Star of Kindness” are intended to introduce Bolesławiec residents, young and old, to the atmosphere of Christmas. The programme will conclude on 17 December with Bolesławiec’s Star of Kindness—a yearly gathering of Bolesławiec residents in the Market Square. Programme details coming soon.
