The “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign is beginning. It was initiated in 1991 and is international in scope. It takes place between November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and December 10, International Human Rights Day. The choice of these dates is symbolic and emphasizes the absolute necessity of respecting human rights.

Across the country, activities are being conducted to eliminate domestic violence. The police’s primary activity concerns the implementation of the Blue Card procedure, and the data collected indicate that during the first ten months of 2015, police officers completed a total of more than 60,000 “Blue Card – A” forms.

During the campaign, female police officers from the Social Prevention Team will provide advice to everyone interested in preventing violence against women, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Lubin police headquarters at 10a Kilińskiego Street. In addition, a consultation point for preventing domestic violence has been opened at the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Lubin.
