“Safety Through a Child’s Eyes” was the theme of the eleventh edition of an art competition for children from Lubin County. The competition is held under the patronage of the Safety and Public Order Commission, headed by the Lubin County starost, with the support of the county police chief in Lubin.
The children were provided with many attractions. A policewoman from the Social Prevention Team, accompanied by the children’s favorite SpongeBob, reminded them of the basic rules of road safety. Officers from the Road Transport Inspection also attended the event for the youngest participants, while students from I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Lubin prepared a wonderful performance conveying essential safety information to their younger peers.
The police mascot Commissioner Lion was also there, and every child could have a commemorative photo taken with him.
The competition received 385 artworks from 20 institutions. The jury recognized 63 entries, including the three winning works created by:
- Lena Głowacz – Primary School No. 8 named after Jan Wyżykowski in Lubin;
- Aleksandra Tylawska – Jan Paul II School Complex in Rudna;
- Zuzanna Miedziak – White Eagle Primary School in Raszówka.
