Bolesławiec School Complex No. 1 has joined the 200 educational institutions in Poland that belong to a club of innovative and creative educational and childcare institutions worthy of emulation and led by outstanding educators.
The ceremony was attended by students, parents, teachers and school employees, Elżbieta Dec, a representative of the Parents’ Council, the head of the institution, Katarzyna Reguła, and invited guests: Zofia Grzebisz-Nowicka, president of the National Association for Assistance to Schools, Waldemar Motyka, chair of the association’s Jelenia Góra branch, Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz, Deputy Chair of the City Council Eugeniusz Kowalski, and councillor Piotr Klasa.
“The value of the teachers and the school head is demonstrated by how deeply the institution is involved in various beneficial initiatives,” said Kornel Filipowicz. “There is a good atmosphere here, students achieve excellent results, and the school itself comes forward with a range of initiatives and projects. Another project is already being prepared, this time an investment project,” the deputy mayor added, congratulating the teaching staff.
The president of the National Association for Assistance to Schools spoke many warm words about the school and its staff. “This is your joint effort; it is wonderful that you are in the club,” Zofia Grzebisz-Nowicka said while presenting the certificate. “Do not be afraid to raise the bar. It is your duty now,” she added.
The president of the Warsaw-based association, who was visiting us, was delighted with Bolesławiec and warmly thanked the organizers for their welcome. She highlighted the commitment of the school’s two teachers, Agnieszka Bednarska and Jolanta Wierzbicka.
The Club of Leading Schools was established in 1986 on the initiative of Professor Mikołaj Kozakiewicz, an activist of the National School Assistance Initiative. For its first three years, the club operated within the National Committee of the National School Assistance Initiative, and since 1989 within the National Association for Assistance to Schools. It is a social movement. Both the Club’s ideas and its tasks are timeless. They serve Polish schools well, particularly modern education and the comprehensive development of students: equalizing educational opportunities, shaping proper relationships between teachers, students and parents, making schools more socially engaged, and opening them to partnership with other institutions in Poland and abroad.
As part of the meeting, lectures on healthy nutrition were held: a presentation by Aleksandra Cichocka, a dietitian from the Institute of Food and Nutrition, entitled “The Importance of Milk and Dairy Products in the Diets of Children and Young People”; information about the “A Glass of Milk” and “Fruit at School” programs; and a tasting of BAKOMA dairy products.
The editorial team of the Istotne.pl portal and newspaper warmly congratulates the head, teachers, employees and students of Municipal School Complex No. 1.
