On November 10, following a welcoming concert by the trombone choir, children from the Paul-Gerhardt-Haus kindergarten will tell the story of St. Martin. A St. Martin’s procession will then make its way through Our Zoo, immersing the entire park in the atmospheric glow of lanterns.
The organizers invite all interested children to take part in the procession with a lantern or flashlight. The procession will end at a bonfire, where, for a small fee, visitors will be able to get children’s punch, mulled wine and a slice of bread with lard.
As every year, the organizer of the St. Martin’s evening is Freundeskreis Tierpark Görlitz e.V. (Friends of Our Zoo). Admission to Our Zoo will be free for participants of the St. Martin’s Festival from 4:30 p.m.; however, the Friends of Our Zoo will be grateful for any donation.
