As investigators established, in addition to stealing the motorcycle recovered by officers from the Polish-German Nysa police group, the young man was involved in more serious incidents. When officers tried to stop him for a traffic check in one of the border-area towns in mid-September this year, the 23-year-old suddenly accelerated, running into the officer who was intervening. The police officer suffered serious injuries. What is more, it turned out that the vehicle driven by the man from Bogatynia had been stolen several hours earlier.
The man was detained. By decision of the District Court in Jelenia Góra, he was remanded in custody, where he is awaiting extradition proceedings.
