During the election campaign, President Piotr Roman was accused of employing Ewa Zbroja as head of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre despite her poor performance. According to an anonymous internet user, the director was unable to reach an agreement with Bolesławiec entrepreneurs and caused someone from outside Bolesławiec to handle the food services at this year’s Ceramic Festival.

In response to these allegations, the president published a lengthy letter that the director had written to one of the members of the Via Sudetica group. The members are outraged by the contents of the letter and blame President Piotr Roman for, as part of the election campaign, sharing a letter taken out of context with people who were not its intended recipients but potential voters.

“We are not a group with political ambitions. The fact that many Via participants and influential supporters became politically involved during the elections is their sacred right. They have their own experiences, views and opinions. This does not mean, however, that these people are able to transfer their political choices into the group’s decisions and actions. In the local elections, the group did not support any political force. It remains ready to cooperate with every institution and every political force that supports its ideas and arguments,” the members of Via Sudetica write in an open letter.

Ewa Zbroja did not want to comment on the events because, as she told Boleslawiec.org, publishing the letter was not her decision.
