Fables is a series of the artist’s illustrations for Jan Brzechwa’s fable “The Woodpecker Told the Owl”. We will also see painted illustrations prepared especially for the Legnica exhibition. The exhibition will also feature the work “Little Red Riding Hood”, for which Marta Marszałek was honoured with the Andrzej Tomiałojć Satyrykon Foundation Award in 2012.
In the artist’s colourful, refined works, full of illusion as well as satire, we will see a magical world of animals, the forest and everything that “rustles in the grass and scurries through the forest thickets”.
Marta Marszałek lectures at the Faculty of New Media Art, in the Narrative Graphics Studio and the Fundamentals of Graphic Design Studio, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. However, she is involved not only in graphic design, but also creates posters, illustrations and jewellery; she sews and paints.
The opening of the “Animal Fables” exhibition will take place on 6 November at 6:00 p.m..
