– The campaign is symbolic in nature, and its aim is to promote the idea of hospice care and raise children’s and young people’s awareness of the needs of sick people – explains Elżbieta Jędrzejewska, the facility’s director.
Through a public fundraising drive among parents, money was collected to purchase tulip and daffodil bulbs, which the children planted around the preschool. In spring, when the flowers bloom, they will be cut and sold during a public collection. The children will donate the funds raised to care for seriously ill people.
– The campaign brings together people who, like us, want to join the work of supporting the hospice. The daffodil bulbs we planted in autumn will come back to life in spring and bloom in our garden. Daffodils are an international symbol of hope. They remind us of people who are suffering and awaiting our help and care during the difficult period of leaving this world – emphasizes Elżbieta Jędrzejewska.
