The PCPR had been seeking support for a long time under the protective programme “Supporting Local Government Units in Creating a System to Counteract Domestic Violence”. It succeeded in obtaining competition funds for much-needed tasks, because the problem of violence is, unfortunately, disturbingly current. The idea of a systemic approach to counteracting it may not be new, but examples from everyday life confirm the validity of this path.
The project includes activities aimed at improving the situation of families at risk of domestic violence, including preventive and educational activities addressed to representatives of particular professional groups working in the area of counteracting domestic violence (social workers from Social Welfare Centres, healthcare and education workers, and probation officers), parents from communities at risk of domestic violence, secondary-school students, and the wider local community.
– Reaching the Project’s target audience is possible thanks to the very good cooperation of all communities working in the area of counteracting domestic violence. We hope it will contribute to more effective solutions to the problem of violence in our county – emphasise the coordinators, who have already taken steps to integrate the community around this important cause.
This was the purpose of a conference organised at the new headquarters of the Bolesławiec County Office, to which educators, psychologists, prosecutors, police officers, representatives of associations and social institutions were invited.
The “Stop Violence” project is being implemented as part of the County Programme for Counteracting Domestic Violence and Protecting Victims of Domestic Violence in Bolesławiec County for 2012–2015. The total cost of implementing the project is PLN 35,000. Co-financing from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy: PLN 28,000. The Bolesławiec County’s own financial contribution: PLN 7,000.
