It began with an event held on such a scale for the first time in Gmina Bolesławiec. It was the 1st Children’s and Youth Football Gala under the patronage of the Mayor of Gmina Bolesławiec. Eighteen teams entered the tournament and played almost 40 matches. More than 300 goals were scored. Teams from the Bolesławiec area as well as neighboring municipalities took part. The competition was held in two age categories: younger Żaki and older Orliki. Due to the large number of teams, the matches took place in two groups: A and B.
After fierce competition, the final results were as follows: Żaki category – 1st place, SP Kruszyn; 2nd place, SP Kraśnik Dolny; 3rd place, SP Ocice; Orliki category – 1st place, SP Nowogrodziec; 2nd place, SP Trzebień; 3rd place, SP Radostaw. After the winning teams were honored with cups funded by the Mayor of Gmina Bolesławiec, it was time to recognize individual achievements. Among the Żaki, the top scorer was Marcel Makowski – SP Parowa, while Emil Potocki – SP Ocice, was chosen as the best player. In the Orliki category, the top scorer and best player was Marcel Mrozik – SP Nowogrodziec, while Kacpra Czwartyńskiego – SP Trzebień, was named the best goalkeeper. It is worth noting that the competition was supervised by professional referees. The boys received commemorative statuettes from the Mayor – Mr. Andrzeja Dutkowskiego – and the Director of SP Ocice – Mr. Dariusza Wojtowicza.
After the tournament, the Sports Champions Gala was held at the Community Center in Ocice, featuring the presentation of scholarships from the Mayor of Gmina Bolesławiec to students who had particularly distinguished themselves in sporting arenas through their achievements in the 2014/2015 school year. This year, nearly 30 young athletes from Gmina Bolesławiec helped popularize an active lifestyle and effectively promoted their region in the most distant parts of the country. The scholarship recipients received a certificate, a statuette and a cash award, while their parents received letters of congratulations.
Alongside the Mayor and representatives of the municipal authorities, the awards were presented by former Zagłębie Lubin players – Mr. Zbigniew Szewczyk, Mr. Andrzej Turkowski and Mr. Jakub Kosior, who came to Ocice at the invitation of the school’s Director, Mr. Dariusz Wojtowicz. The event was co-hosted by the Primary School in Ocice, which ensured an appropriate setting for the meeting.
The closing point of that sporting day in Ocice was football played at the highest level. The matches were contested by the current Polish Local Government Champions – councilors from Bolesławiec County, the veteran team from Ocice and Zagłębie Lubin, which was reinforced by a group of friends. The senior tournament ended with a victory for the local government representatives, who confirmed that they fully deserved the championship title! All teams received cups presented by the Mayor of Gmina Bolesławiec. After the sporting excitement, all participants, as well as the invited guests, met for a shared lunch, during which they exchanged numerous comments about the entire event in a very friendly atmosphere.
The statistics from this exceptional day at the Primary School in Ocice are impressive: more than 200 participants in the junior and senior tournaments and nearly 250 people cheering on the players and scholarship recipients! We thank everyone involved in preparing this undertaking. It is impossible to name everyone here, but all those concerned know that we mean them.
