In their productions, the young actors referred to historical events addressed in the play “Tsar Pretender”. After the performance, the young people took part in an educational debate concerning the turbulent historical events underlying the drama.
All participants in the mini theatre showcase received gifts and were invited that evening to the stage on Nowy Świat to see, free of charge, the performance “Tsar Pretender, or Poland’s Revels in Moscow”.
– It was an unforgettable experience for the young people from our workshop. We spent the entire day at the Legnica theatre. First we rehearsed, then performed before an audience, and in the evening we took our seats in the auditorium and watched the excellent performance “Tsar Pretender, or Poland’s Revels in Moscow” by Adolf Nowaczyński, directed by Jacek Głomb – says Urszula Frąszczak-Matyjewicz, the theatre group’s supervisor.
Participants in the “hallo grupa” theatre workshop at BOK-MCC, invited by the Helena Modrzejewska Theatre in Legnica, took part in the Dymitriady amateur theatre showcase. “Dymitriady – success or failure of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, pride or problem of today’s Poland” is the name of an educational project carried out by the Modrzejewska Theatre in Legnica as part of the competition for the Staging of Old Works of Polish Literature, “Living Classics”, held to mark the 250th anniversary of public theatre in Poland. The competition was organised by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute.
