New trees and shrubs have been planted, and they will be fully green by next spring. The new plants were planted according to plan and will receive regular care, eliminating the risk of them growing randomly. The planting plan for the new trees and shrubs was divided into two zones. The first covered the retention reservoir itself, while the second covered the city area. In addition, the areas were divided by type—boulevard, promenade, park or square.
More greenery has appeared, among other places, in the square at the intersection of Z. Augusta and Murarska streets, in the Kwiatowe housing estate, at the playground on Łukasiewicza Street, along Tysiąclecia Avenue and on the boulevard by the Bóbr River. In total, 525 trees and 362 shrubs were added.
In addition, work was carried out to revitalise the flower bed at Kubika Street, at the intersection of Kubika and Kutuzowa streets, transforming it into a so-called butterfly meadow by planting honey-bearing perennials.
At the reservoir, 310 trees, more than 2,000 vines and perennials, and 1,891 aquatic and wetland plants were planted. Mostly deciduous trees were planted—plane trees, birches, linden trees and maples—as well as shrubs, including barberries and ninebarks.
