It is organized every year to remind people of important chapters in our country’s history and of those for whom patriotism and Poland hold the highest value. Many of them gave their lives for these values.

The procession, led by the KWB Turów Orchestra, proceeded along the avenue through the Zgorzelec Municipal Cemetery to the monument dedicated to Siberian exiles. At the monument, alongside the flag bearers, representatives of Siberian exile associations and schools, there were also students from county educational institutions with their supervisors, local government authorities, heads of uniformed services, and a large group of Siberian exiles and their families.

The ceremony at the monument included commemorative speeches, a prayer, the Roll Call of the Fallen, a ceremonial volley and the Siberian Exiles’ anthem. The ceremony concluded with the laying of candles and wreaths at the obelisk. The county was also represented in paying tribute to the Siberian exiles by Ireneusz Owsik, a full-time member of the County Board Ireneusz Owsik.
