The first incident occurred on National Road No. 3 in the direction of Polkowice, near the exit to Obora. As road traffic officers initially determined, the bus driver probably avoided an obstacle and changed lanes, resulting in a collision with a Seat. The driver of a Volkswagen then hit the rear of the Seat. The drivers of the Seat and Volkswagen were taken to hospital; no one on the bus was injured.

While police officers were carrying out activities at the scene of the first incident, they received information about another one, which also occurred on National Road 3. Five people were injured in the second accident, including an infant several months old.

Initial findings indicate that all the participants were travelling in the same direction. For a reason not yet established, three cars—a Volvo, a Mazda and an Opel—collided. The Volvo driver was taken to hospital. The Opel was occupied by a man, two women and an infant several months old. They were all taken to hospital.
