It will take place on Sunday, September 13, along the route of the Stations of the Cross chapels dating from 1740, scattered around Mount Górzec in the “Chełmy” Landscape Park.
This year’s pilgrimage will be dedicated to the family, or rather to giving thanks for our families and for the years spent together in marriage. Every married couple who sets out together on the pilgrimage route to give thanks for the time they have shared, the hardships and joys, and the moments spent together in health and sickness, for better or for worse, will receive a special blessing confirmed by a commemorative diploma.
St. Maximilian Kolbe—the patron of this year’s pilgrimage and the patron of difficult times, as Pope St. John Paul II described him—will support us in giving thanks for our families.
This year’s pilgrimage, like those held previously, will also support young patients of the Clinic of Bone Marrow Transplantation, Oncology and Pediatric Hematology in Wrocław. Through the “Na ratunek Dzieciom z chorobą nowotworową” Foundation, we will donate all the funds collected to help save the lives of children battling cancer.
During the pilgrimage, the “Stop Cancer in Children” campaign will be held, offering registration for free screening examinations—abdominal ultrasounds—and the opportunity for a free consultation with a pediatrician from the Children’s Oncology Clinic in Wrocław.
The organizers have also arranged refreshments for pilgrims: homemade baked goods and grilled delicacies will be available. A raffle with attractive prizes is also planned during the family picnic.
