The championships were supposed to take place on 15 August during the Festyn na Zakaczawiu, but rain thwarted the organisers’ plans. So there will be “Dumplings Encore”.
Both women and men from Legnica and the surrounding area may participate in the championships. Registration is open, and participants can sign up by phone or in person at the OSiR headquarters or at Pierogeria on Grunwaldzka Street.
Before the final, in which 10 people will compete, there will be qualifying rounds. The jury will assess the number of dumplings made within one hour and their quality. The organisers will provide participants with ready-made dough rounds, filling, pastry boards, flour for dusting, as well as aprons and caps. All finalists will receive material prizes and commemorative diplomas.
The organisers invite supporters and dumpling fans to a tasting. The musical and vocal entertainment will be provided by the band Sto Procent.
The dumpling championships always attract crowds of Legnica residents. Last year was no different, when—once again—Anna Ćwik became Legnica’s dumpling-making champion with an impressive result of 366 pieces.
