For some time now, our country has been experiencing drought, and as a result, a total ban is in force on entering forests with motor vehicles. In theory, everyone knows how important it is to keep forest roads in proper condition, as in the event of a fire they may be the only route to the source of the blaze. Unfortunately, this was not the case with a 21-year-old resident of the Rudna municipality.
The forestry district notified the police that a newly renovated forest road had been destroyed. The losses were estimated at more than PLN 35,000.
Police officers and forest guards determined that the newly renovated road had been destroyed by a 21-year-old from the Rudna municipality who, ignoring the ban, was testing his car there. Hard braking, acceleration and handbrake turns—all of this was destroying the surface, but it made no impression on the young driver. What is more, it can be assumed that he was having a great time.
The man faces up to five years in prison. Moreover, the road owner will certainly pursue his rights to ensure that the repairs are carried out at the 21-year-old’s expense.
