The incident took place on 2 August this year, at approximately 6:44 p.m., in one of the apartments in Jelenia Góra. That day, the woman's former common-law husband came to the victim's apartment to collect the rest of his belongings. During the visit, an argument broke out between him and the victim, as a result of which the man began grabbing and threatening the woman, and then... robbed her. His loot included a mobile phone, an identity card and the keys to the apartment.
After the man left the apartment, the victim notified the police.
Police officers spotted the 56-year-old several streets away from the scene of the robbery. When he saw the uniformed officers, the man began acting nervously, trying to hide something. It turned out to be the items stolen from the victim.
The suspect was drunk when he was arrested. He had nearly 1.8 per mille of alcohol in his system. He now faces up to 12 years in prison.
