The ranking’s authors examined all local governments, looking at income levels, investments carried out by municipal authorities per resident and their ability to effectively secure European Union funds. Another equally important criterion was the municipal debt ratio, which had to be below 45% of own-source revenue. This is how the ranking of the wealthiest local governments that manage their resources effectively was created.
“For years, we have consistently pursued investments aimed at improving our residents’ quality of life,” says Mayor Władysław Bigus. “We have modern water supply systems, an extensive sewage network and a gas network. As a municipality, we are equipping further areas with infrastructure, encouraging people to settle in our area. We are building roads, expanding recreational centres and investing in municipal healthcare by funding preventive care activities and vaccinations. We have a well-functioning municipal waste management system, as well as a network of sports and cultural centres located in every town and village in our municipality. We are currently completing a project providing our residents with access to fast fibre-optic internet.”
He adds: “The ranking confirms the effectiveness of our activities.”
