Jolanta Koźmin’s gallery on the fence and home gallery were created out of passion and fascination with art. “If it weren’t for the University of the Third Age, I wouldn’t have started painting,” says Jolanta. “I wouldn’t have known that it was in my head, and now I have been painting for a year and a half.”

The author of several dozen works created the gallery for herself and her neighbors. At one of the exhibitions, she hung works by the children who visit her from the neighborhood, as well as by her grandson, who lives with his parents in Warsaw, attends an art club and sends his grandmother drawings as gifts.

“These works reflect my emotions,” says the amateur painter and sculptor. “I attend theater classes at Orzeł, sculpture classes at Mateusz Grobelny’s studio at BOK-MCC, I run the household, welcome friends and live my life,” she says, describing her passions.

Works depicting her dreams, impressions, favorite models and copies of paintings by Klimt, an artist she adores, hang on the fence and walls. Jolanta is also fascinated by Eastern motifs and Arab women, who often appear as subjects in her works. The UTW participant also organizes unique and very interesting events at home. On March 8, she invited friends to a Women’s Day celebration in a socialist style and also organized an unusual Kupala Night.

She changes the exhibition on the fence every two weeks. She decorates her house and garden to encourage children and adults to visit. She warmly invites everyone to her unique gallery at 14 Robotnicza Street in Bolesławiec.
