There is a chance that traffic jams at the entrance to Bolesławiec from the direction of Zgorzelec will be reduced. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Wrocław plans to modernize the roads in the area of the bridge over the Bóbr River in Bolesławiec. Construction of a new bridge on the northern side of the existing one is planned. The old bridge is to be modernized.

The planned works also include construction of a 2-meter-wide sidewalk along the northern edge of II Armii WP Street, reconstruction of the three-way intersection at the junction of Widok, Zgorzelecka and II Armii WP streets into a roundabout with pedestrian and bicycle paths separated from the roundabout edge by a strip of greenery. Further changes are to include construction of a road at the foot of the embankment slope at the intersection of Widok, II Armii WP and Zgorzelecka streets, as well as relocating the existing bus bays and stops to Widok Street in order to create a safe mini bus interchange.

The intersection of Ceramiczna, Widok and II Armii WP streets is also to be reconstructed, as is the existing roundabout at the junction of Zgorzelecka and Wróblewskiego streets, together with the addition of pedestrian and bicycle paths separated from the roundabout edge by a strip of greenery and construction of an additional traffic lane at the roundabout entrance from Wróblewskiego Street. According to GDDKiA plans, the acoustic screen on the southern side of the roundabout at the junction of Zgorzelecka and Wróblewskiego streets will be relocated and extended. Some buildings on Bobrowa and Widok streets are scheduled for demolition. To bring the lighting into line with applicable norms and standards, new street lighting is planned for the proposed roundabouts and along the proposed streets.

The application submitted by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Wrocław concerning modernization of the transport system, including reconstruction of the bridge over the Bóbr River along national road No. 4 in Bolesławiec, received a positive opinion from the mayor.
