This year, five institutions will organize the 21st Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. BOK-MCC and the municipal promotion department will carry out the largest share of the work, while several important accompanying events will be organized by MOSiR, the Museum of Ceramics and the Municipal Public Library. The Via Sudetica Association is a co-organizer of the parade called the Festival of Cultures.
Anna Bober-Tubaj invited Bolesławiec residents and tourists to ceramic workshops organized at the Museum and to take advantage of expert assessment and certification of old ceramics. Museum staff will assess free of charge the age of cups, pots and other ceramic vessels, as well as identify the workshop where the vessels were made. They will also advise on how to store and care for old ceramics.
Marzena Czułajewska of the Municipal Public Library announced an exhibition of Władysław Garnik, which the library will organize to mark the festival. The artist, who has been associated with the Bolesławiec ceramic plein-air workshop for years, will this time present his paintings and drawings.
Elżbieta Dec, representing MOSiR, invited residents to spend the festival actively. Numerous competitions will be held on Spacerowa Street, including beach volleyball and pétanque tournaments.
Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska, director of BOK-MCC, announced that this year 91 exhibitors from Poland and abroad have qualified for the largest ceramic fair, with the quality and artistic value of the ceramics they produce being among the selection criteria. The full program can be viewed on the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival website.
