The first to test her form, on 3–5 July, was Patrycja Faryna, who competed in the national junior championships in the 14-year-old category at the 50-metre pool in Olsztyn. Our swimmer ranked eleventh in Poland, decisively winning the B final in the 400 m individual medley. In the 100 m freestyle, Patrycja finished fourth in the B final.
The Polish Championships for 15-year-old juniors took place in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski on 10–12 July. Bolesławiec was represented by two of our athletes: Izabela Tkaczyk and Agata Knapik. The former ranked ninth in the country in the 50 m butterfly and fourteenth in the 200 m individual medley and 50 m butterfly. Our other representative finished seventeenth in the 400 m individual medley.
“This season has been difficult for us, as the girls had health problems and were unable to prepare fully for the main event. That is why we are pleased with the results achieved,” says coach Krzysztof Wróbel. “We are particularly pleased with Patrycja Faryna’s successes, as she has made tremendous progress this season.
Our athletes’ good results would not have been possible without the support of their parents, the City of Bolesławiec, SP Oxpress and Auto Port Godzieszów.
