The incident occurred at a bus stop in Lubin (near a shopping centre). At 9 p.m., a 22-year-old resident of Lubin finished work and headed towards the bus stop. There, he saw three young men behaving aggressively and harassing other passers-by.

As he walked past the aggressors, one of them tried to kick him. The man then reprimanded the would-be kicker, which immediately angered him. He approached the victim and punched him in the face. The attacked man began defending himself and fending off the assault.

At that point, the attacker’s two friends ran over and additionally began grappling with the victim, while the first assailant continued punching him. Eventually, the victim managed to break free, leave and call the police.

Officers from the Prevention Department of the Lubin police station immediately arrived at the scene and stopped the bus in which the perpetrators were believed to be. Seeing the police officers, they ran out of the bus.

Officers detained two of them in a direct pursuit. The third perpetrator was detained by a patrol from the auxiliary police service.

All three residents of Lubin will answer for their actions before the family and juvenile court, as all three are 16 years old. One of them was exceptionally lucky—he committed the assault on the eve of his seventeenth birthday (had he done it a day later, he would have been liable for the offense as an adult).
