On 10 July, at the Qubus hotel in Legnica, Franciszek Gogół met with journalists and sponsors of the run, which was organised to support animal rights. Without their help and support, it would have been impossible. The run was held under the patronage of Mayor Tadeusz Krzakowski, and was supported, among others, by the Municipal Office, the Sports and Recreation Centre, the „Gobi” Foundation for Nature Protection and Tourism, the Qubus hotel, KS Feniks, the School Youth Hostel, the Youth Cultural Centre and veterinarian Jerzy Legień.

Franciszek Gogół ran 3,200 kilometres in 64 days. That is, 60 marathons in two months. An incredible feat that will surely make it into one of the record books. “I was received very warmly everywhere,” Mr Franciszek said. “People invited me to stay overnight and offered me meals.”

He admitted that before Szczecin he was troubled by thoughts of giving up. At times, Dino had had enough too. Nevertheless, despite their weakness, they continued running. It was also a wonderful promotion of animal rights. Along the way, they encountered many animals that had unfortunately been abandoned or mistreated. Perhaps their feat will help change this. Mr Franciszek was also an ambassador for our city.

“The more initiatives like this, the better for animal rights,” said Jerzy Legień. “I am full of admiration for Mr Franciszek’s achievement.”

A week has passed. Mr Franciszek has returned to work, which involves installing stoves. Dino has settled back into his home. Time for further challenges.
