The Mayor of Bolesławiec Piotr Roman and the director of the Museum of Ceramics Anna Bober-Tubaj thanked the article authors and editors for their work, presenting them with flowers and the first copies of the publication. The promotion was hosted by editor-in-chief Dr Edmund Maliński. Thirty-four authors took part in preparing this year’s edition, while approximately one hundred people have been involved in the project since the first issue, the “Bolesławiec Yearbook 2008.” Compared with the first edition, the publication grew from 124 to 224 pages. The layout and individual subject sections also changed over the following years.

The “Bolesławiec Yearbook 2014” contains an illustrated chronicle of the most important events of the previous year, as well as thematically diverse, wide-ranging articles on people and phenomena connected with the city. The section Research into the History of Bolesławiec contains the articles The Food Industry in Bolesławiec County in 1945–1949 by Adam Baniecki, The Special Regiment of the Internal Security Corps (12th Cavalry Regiment) in Bolesławiec in 1945 (Part II) by Jan Żuralski, and the study On the Language of Re-emigrants from Bosnia by Stanisława Opała.

The publication also includes other articles on local subjects: Father Paul Sauer: Myths and Truths and Professor Andrzej Zawada: A Man of Many Passions by Zygmunt Brusiło, On the Presence of Father Andrzej Gromadzki in Bolesławiec (1898–1968) by Ewa Browarczyk, The Reverend Prelate Edward Bober – the First Parish Priest of the Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bolesławiec (1969–2006), and Bolesławiec’s Ties to the Sea by Lesław Kasprzycki, One Must Desire – the St. Maria de Mattias Museum in Bolesławiec by Alicja Maria Brusiło, The Ziemia Bolesławiecka Association (2003–2014) by Edmund Maliński, and the study The District Court Hall in Bolesławiec by Anna Bober-Tubaj and Agata Bojanowska.

The “Yearbook...” also presents well-known Bolesławiec artists: Wiesława Goryczka and Marta Kisiliczyk (Danuta Maślicka), Barbara Licha-Marcinek (Maria Sobolska), Janusz Moniatowicz (Ewa Ołenicz-Bernacka), Marek Zyga (Agata Bojanowska), Aleksandra Sozańska-Kut and Barbara Kozłowska-Trojnar (Katarzyna Żak), as well as Paweł Śliwko, a longtime director of Bolesławiec schools (Lesław Kasprzycki), and Krzysztof Rakowski, creator of the Castle Party festival in Bolków (Magdalena Olga Konieczna). It also profiles people who have passed away and made significant contributions to the city: Władysław Luboch (Jan Paździora) and Bohdan Pieliński (Danuta Maślicka).

The “Bolesławiec Yearbook 2014” can be purchased at both departments of the Museum of Ceramics, the Tourist and Cultural Information Point, and Bolesławiec bookshops. The publication was financed by the funds of the Bolesławiec Municipal Commune and the Ziemia Bolesławiecka Association, and its publisher is the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec.
