On Wednesday, BKS Bolesławiec’s senior team hosted Pogoń Oleśnica. From the beginning of the match, the Bolesławiec players imposed a fast pace. In the 3rd minute, after a powerful cross from Marek Kumoś, the ball hit the visitors’ crossbar. A minute later, BKS were leading 1–0. Marek Kumoś again initiated the move. After a cross into the penalty area, Radek Pietkiewicz took advantage of the goalkeeper’s uncertain intervention and directed the ball into the net from close range. BKS were clearly dominant, while the visitors struggled to stop the attacking Bolesławiec players. In the 20th minute, Łukasz Rudyk was fouled in Pogoń’s penalty area. The player himself converted the penalty to make it 2–0 for BKS. In the 23rd minute, Radek Pietkiewicz again had a chance to score, but the BKS striker’s shot was off target.
For the first 30 minutes of the match, the visitors had little to say. They created a dangerous move only in the 32nd minute. The BKS goalkeeper had to work hard to parry a free kick from 16 metres. In the 45th minute, BKS were already leading 3–0. Jacek Jasiński, who had come onto the pitch literally a minute earlier, got his name on the scoresheet.
The goal came after a cross from Paweł Demczar. Paweł Rissmann got a slight touch to the ball with his head, and Jacek Jasiński was in the right place to beat the Pogoń goalkeeper with a beautiful header. In the second half, the visitors tried to impose their own pace. In the 55th minute, Radek Pietkiewicz was just too late for the ball after an uncertain intervention by the goalkeeper. In the 63rd minute, Marek Przykłota saved a dangerous shot from the visitors. From that moment, the Oleśnica team’s pressure became very apparent.
In the 70th minute, a visiting player was fouled in the BKS penalty area. The referee awarded a penalty, and Jarosław Gad scored Pogoń’s first goal. Until the end of the match, the visitors continued trying to threaten the BKS goal. The final minutes were a horror for the Bolesławiec supporters. In the 89th minute, the referee awarded Pogoń an indirect free kick. A wall formed in front of the BKS goal, consisting of almost the entire team.
The restart took quite a long time. During this time, the referee showed several yellow cards, including a second one for Grzegorz Nowak, who consequently had to leave the pitch. Fortunately, the Pogoń player’s shot hit one of our players. The Bolesławiec team were also fortunate when, during one of the final attacks of the match, the ball hit the goalpost. BKS Bolesławiec defeated Pogoń Oleśnica 3–1. Radek Pietkiewicz, Marek Kumoś and Łukasz Rudyk stood out in the match.
