The conference organiser’s aim was to familiarise German entrepreneurs with the conditions for investing in Poland and the investment opportunities available in the Lower Silesian-Saxon border region. From the first, introductory presentation—which was also the most general and presented a broad spectrum of opportunities for locating companies in Poland—given by Katarzyna Rzeźniczek, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Berlin, through the presentation of the city and Zgorzelec’s investment offer discussed by Mayor Rafał Gronicz, to the address by Barbara Budrewicz-Wróblewska, a representative of the Legnica Special Economic Zone, everything was subordinated to one goal: attracting interest in Poland and our border region.

The conference concluded with an open discussion, during which listeners primarily asked about the operating principles of special economic zones, their competitiveness and the conditions for locating businesses in them. Mayor Rafał Gronicz and Małgorzata Sokołowska, his accompanying business development adviser, answered questions from those interested in our city’s investment offer.

The conference was organised by the Saxon-Polish Centre for Economic Cooperation at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Dresden, Görlitz Branch.
