Pupils who receive scholarships from the municipal head must meet very stringent criteria. Primary school pupils must achieve an average grade of 5.2, while lower-secondary pupils must achieve 5.1. Scholarships are also awarded to winners of subject competitions and to pupils who completed their final examinations with a score of 90% in lower secondary school or 95% in primary school. A special distinction at today’s gala went to Alicja Kolasa, who passed the sixth-grade test with a score of 97%.
Head Andrzej Dutkowski congratulated the pupils, their parents, teachers and school directors. This year, the honour of welcoming the talented pupils and their parents fell to Jerzy Kukuczka Primary School in Ocice and its director, Dariusz Wojtowicz. Primary school pupils prepared a short performance for the participants, while Roksana Wojtasińska sang three songs.
At the end of May, primary schools received the results of the test taken throughout Poland by sixth-grade pupils. In Bolesławiec Municipality, the average result of pupils from all schools in the first section, testing Polish-language and mathematics skills, was higher than the average result in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. These were the results praised by the municipal head.
Local government representatives and directors of schools from the municipality and city of Bolesławiec were invited to the gala. Statuettes, letters of congratulations for parents and diplomas for talented pupils were presented by Head Andrzej Dutkowski, Deputy Head Roman Jaworski, Chairman of the Municipal Council Bogusław Uziej, Deputy Chairwoman of the Municipal Council Grażyna Łucka and Andrzej Szwedo, Chairman of the Education, Culture, Sport and Social Affairs Committee.
