Wojtek Zakrzewski from Bożejowice was born on 15 December 2013 at the hospital in Bolesławiec. We had been waiting a long time for the birth of our son. It seemed that a healthy child had been born. However, a few hours after the delivery, it turned out that Wojtuś had a severe heart defect threatening his life.
The first operation took place at the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze. Further procedures, trips to clinics and consultations took up a great deal of time. However, no one in Poland is able to help our son. The child was not qualified for further treatment, without which he has no chance of living a normal life. However, we managed to contact the University Hospital in German Munster, where a world-class specialist, Professor Edward Malec, works.
Following the consultation, it was decided that Wojtek would undergo surgery. When we read this message, we were overjoyed, as over time we had had less and less hope that Wojtek could be cured. However, in the next message we received the conditions for setting the surgery date: full payment of the treatment costs, amounting to €36,500. This is the only obstacle we face at the moment. Therefore, we are making an earnest appeal for any help with the treatment of our only child. A small gesture could give Wojtek a chance at a normal life.
