Both were returning home after shopping when they noticed a group of people standing in the parking lot around a man lying on the ground. It turned out that the man had suddenly collapsed, including in front of his wife. He was not breathing and showed no signs of life. Someone among the bystanders called an ambulance.
The officers began resuscitation efforts. They took turns performing artificial respiration and chest compressions on the man for several minutes. Resuscitation continued after the ambulance arrived. After approximately 20 minutes, they managed to restore the man's breathing and heartbeat.
The emergency medical team took him to hospital. The 76-year-old Legnica resident was admitted to the emergency department.
