In the competition held from 15 to 17 June 2015 in Kamień Krajeński (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship), 26 pairs competed, including players who normally play for first- and second-league teams. Lower Silesian Voivodeship was represented by three pairs, including Damian Śliwiński (Bolesławiec District Headquarters of the State Fire Service) and Łukasz Mesjasz (District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Zgorzelec).
The competition was played using the Brazilian system (after two losses). Our players began the tournament with two victories over players from SGPSP in Warsaw and representatives of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. They then lost the matches determining qualification for the quarter-finals, including one against the Wrocław pair that, as it later turned out, won the entire tournament.
Ultimately, our pair was ranked in places 9–12.
“Considering this was our first appearance at the championships and our relatively short preparation period, we regard this result as good, especially since we had a chance to reach the tournament’s top eight. Our ambitions are growing, and next year we will certainly fight for an even better result,” says Damian Śliwiński.
