They have been accused of jointly and in agreement with one another, as well as using a dangerous weapon in the form of a telescopic baton, carrying out a robbery in Karpacz against the owner of a grocery store.

The incident occurred on 13 February 2015. That day, all three suspects were drinking wine and vodka in one of the parks in Karpacz. At one point, the men ran out of money to buy another bottle of alcohol. They then jointly decided to rob one of the grocery stores located in an area with little traffic. The perpetrators agreed that they would steal beer and money and, in order to frighten the shop assistant during the robbery, would use a telescopic baton and a toy pellet gun that they had with them.

At around 11:30 p.m., they went together to the store. After briefly observing the premises and establishing that there were no customers inside, the men ran in shouting: “This is a robbery.” Adrian I. ran up to the counter, waving a telescopic baton at the victim and intending to hit her. However, the woman stepped back and avoided the blow. A struggle broke out between the shop assistant and I., during which he struck a glass refrigerated display case with the telescopic baton, smashing it.

At that time, the second perpetrator, Grzegorz K., aimed an object resembling a firearm at the victim. The men then jointly tore the cash register from the shop counter, stealing PLN 1,050. The third perpetrator, Bartosz B., opened a refrigerator and took 10 beers worth PLN 38. Shortly afterwards, all the robbers fled.

Questioned as suspects, I., K. and B. admitted to committing the crime of which they were accused. At the request of the District Prosecutor in Jelenia Góra, all of them were remanded in custody. Only one of them—Grzegorz K.—had previously been convicted.

They face up to 15 years in prison.
